SUBJECT:  Membership Survey

When I was elected to the Board last December, I wanted to be sure that the Board understood and was responsive to the needs and interests of HBE residents.   I believe these interests and needs are dynamic, particularly considering how over the last two years we have added many new residents and have seen turnover of some of our early settlers.    The Board has prepared the attached two-page survey to obtain your views in several areas:

• Social activities,
• Facilities enhancements,
• Interest in helping the Association function,
• Ways to communicate more efficiently and effectively,
• Enforcement of Covenants and Restrictions (C&Rs), and
• What we need to protect or change in HBE. 

We are conducting this survey now so that we can use the data as we plan for next year.   These surveys are not anonymous opinion polls but are our way to understand what individuals in the community are interested in doing, and how each feels about the direction of our community.  Since it is personal, we are asking that you print your name on the survey.   Each adult in a household should complete his/her own survey so that we can capture the views of both adults in the household.    Feel free to attach additional comments on a separate page if there is not enough space on the survey to express your views. 

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Expressing an interest for a facilities enhancement item will help guide the Board in determining what items to look into and where there is no member interest.  You are not “voting” for the item since you have no cost information to make that decision.  Voting opportunities will come during the budget approval process or, for particularly costly items like the pavilion, as a separate member vote.
